Partners who never buy from you.

The sales rep, the planning office, the workshop around the corner: they recommend you because it belongs to their work, not because they need your goods. A voucher is worthless to them and a percentage on the goods value often too erratic. What they want is a clear amount per customer referred.

The setting

A fixed amount per customer won.

Two switches, and the partner program becomes a referral bonus.

Commission type: absolute per order

Instead of a percentage the partner gets a fixed euro amount. Whether the customer orders for 80 or for 800 euros changes nothing about it.

Alternative: absolute per item, if the quantity rather than the order should count.

Follow-up orders: off

Commission only arises on the first order of a referred customer. After that the customer is yours, and the rep has had their bonus.

The other way round: follow-up orders on, if they should share in the revenue permanently.

Four referred customers€25.00 per customer won
CustomerFirst orderOrders sinceCommission
Anna K., Bochum€412.906€25.00
Tobias M., Essen€89.001€25.00
Werkstatt Süd€2,140.0011€25.00
Jonas P., Herne€156.400€25.00

Four customers won, four identical amounts. That is the point of this setting: the bonus hangs on the customer won, not on their revenue. Had a percentage with follow-up orders been set instead, Werkstatt Süd alone would have triggered a multiple of it.

Everyday work

Why does this order not count?

The question that comes up regularly in sales. You do not have to guess it, the plugin shows you.

  • Check columns per order with a tick or a cross: minimum age reached, customer group matching, order status right.
  • The calculation log through the context menu, with the route to the rate actually applied.
  • The Commissions tab on the order names the reason in plain words when a commission is missing.
  • A manual entry for everything no rule covers, with a comment for the partner and a private note for you.

Common questions

Can a partner be created who never orders from me?

Yes, that is explicitly provided for. You create partners in the administration yourself, optionally partner and customer account in one go. A sales rep, a workshop or a planning office needs no customer account in the usual sense, only one through which the settlement runs.

How do I reward a referred order with a fixed amount?

Through the commission type absolute per order. Instead of a percentage the partner gets a fixed euro amount, independent of the goods value. There is also absolute per item, if the quantity rather than the order should count.

How do I reward only the first purchase of a referred customer?

By switching off follow-up orders. Then commission only arises on the first order of a referred customer. Together with an absolute amount that makes a clear rule: a fixed amount per customer won, no matter how often and for how much they order afterwards.

Can I put a partner on hold temporarily?

Yes, through the Active switch. It stops new commissions but leaves entries, payouts and the assignment of the referred customers untouched. When a rep changes territory or a collaboration pauses, that is the right route, not deleting.

Can I correct commissions by hand?

Yes, positive as well as negative. Every entry comes with a private note that only you see and a comment the partner reads in their account. That covers the special cases no automation knows: a bonus, a reversal after a partial return, an arrangement made outside the usual.

Why does a particular order not count?

There are check columns for that. They show per order with a tick or a cross whether minimum age, customer group and order status fit. Through the context menu you open the calculation log, and the Commissions tab on the order names the reason when a commission is missing. So you do not have to guess.

Does the rep get insight into my customer data?

No. They only see their referred customers anonymised, with a first name, an initial and a town. How many orders and customers are visible at all, whether there are extended statistics with a CSV export and whether the receipt may be downloaded is up to you.

Not every partner is a customer.

In the demo shop you can create a partner in the administration and set an entry by hand.
